The Ten Commandments List Reviewed

The Ten Commandments are a series of biblical principles in relation to God's commands on morals and honor. These sacred concepts serve a significant and important service in Judaism as well as nearly all types of Christianity. The ten commandments instruct to praise the one God and to relax on the day of Sabbath. The Ten Commandments also prohibit any forms of worshipping more than one god, adultery, blasphemy, killing and theft. There are many variants of the ten commandments as they are seen and understood differently by the many types religious groups.

The Commandments is mentioned two times in the Hebrew Bible. As explained in the Exodus, God scribed them on 2 stone tables and delivered them on Mount Sinai to Moses.

It is unsettling that many Christians and Jews say that they know them though either do not know all of them or have some completely wrong. For your convenience we've made the contents of the New Living Translation interpretation of the Ten Commandments List.

The Ten Commandments List is: 1. "Do not love any other gods besides me." 2. "Don't create idols at all" 3. "Do not curse the name of your God" 4. "Do not forget to abide by the day of rest by keeping it holy..." 5. "Love your mom and dad" 6. "Don't commit murder." 7. "Thou shall not commit infidelity." 8. "Do not thieve." 9. "Thou shall not speak deceitfully against your neighbor." 10. "Don't wish for your neighbor's objects."
