People Are Asking When Is The Rapture

By Dianne Crane

There have been a plethora of major motion pictures produced that chronicle the end of days. In some cases the end of humanity is triggered by a large nuclear catastrophe. In others the end of time comes with the impact of huge meteors and global pandemics. The way the world ends is steeped in the fears that have plagued modern mankind. But it is believed that there will be an event that will facilitate the end of humanity as it is currently known. And this event is known as the rapture. The question of when is the rapture is raised by many.

Humans in their quest to master everything seek to master the end of the world also. Fully understanding something is mans sign that he can subdue it and enslave it to his advantage. Examples of this includes biology, electricity, and chemistry. Maybe the desire to comprehend the specifics of the end times is with the assurance that it could also be controlled and prevented.

There is also the circulating thought that if one knows when it will happen there will be an opportunity to get all affairs in order and be prepared before it occurs. This is similar to the child that will take from the cookie jar when no one is looking. It is also similar to a thief that steals as long as he knows he will not get caught. Not getting caught does not excuse the transgression.

A significance of a event called the rapture is, just like the creation of electrons, neutrons, and protons, is beyond mans control. Humans can convert trees, water, and earth into wide ranges of usable entities. There is however the inability to develop any of their building blocks from out of thin air.

The Bible speaks of recognizable signs that will come to past before the end of time. There are many which have tried to interpret these signs and create timelines and deadlines. To date, every attempt at rapture prediction has failed.

There is a scripture that speaks to the fact that no man knows the day or the hour that the Son of God shall return to the earth. And if there is no way to know whenever it will occur, wisdom will lead to the fact that affecting the event is impossible. So the focus is perhaps better suited being placed in the fact that it will occur rather than trying to predict when.

When a person has received salvation by trusting in Jesus Christ as their Savior who died on the cross yet lives, they have also received assurance of security and safety for all times. There is no need to worry about the future. Jesus, the Son of God knows and holds the future. Man should simply endeavor to live their best every day.

There shall continue to be discussions concerning not only when the rapture will occur. They will also focus on if it shall occur. Mankind does not have the ability to know the future. What man does have the ability to do is be ready for it.
